Hugo Broos is nearing closer to the objectives of Cameroon

Hugo Broos was appointed as the head coach of Cameroon back on February of the ongoing year and ever since the Belgian manager took over the national side, the 64 year old tactician has stated that he does not want to have any distractions that would take him away from what he is planning to accomplish with Cameroon.

After being officially unveiled as the new coach of the Cameroon national side, Hugo Broos said: "I will never accept intrusion in my job as a coach. I am the coach and I take the decisions. It is the first time I will be training a national team and there is always a beginning but I hope for good results and I am not afraid to take the post.’’

"I have always been passionate about African football and Cameroon has a rich football history having participated at World Cups and won the Africa Cup of Nations. They have good players and this, coupled with the prospect of qualifying for and playing in two big competitions, was a big attraction."

FECAFOOT is the Cameroonian Football Federation which is the governing body of football in Cameroon and they have outlined some of the objectives that they would like to see Hugo Broos accomplishing as the coach of Cameroon.

A few of the objectives are qualifying for the 2018 World Cup and also qualifying for the 2017 Nations Cup.

Even though Hugo Broos still has not accomplished any of the objectives, he has kicked things off in a positive way after defeating Gambia in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match which was played on September 3.

Cameroon also defeated Gabon in an international friendly match and this shows just how serious Hugo Broos has been taking this managerial position with Cameroon. This is the first time that the Belgian manager has taken charge of a national team but he has been doing an impressive job.

Despite this fairly good start coaching Cameroon, the main task of qualifying for the upcoming 2017 Nations Cup and the 2018 FIFA World Cup is what Hugo Broos has been tasked to achieve and there is a long road ahead of him.
