Eto'o Left Out Of Cameroon Starting Line

The manager of Cameroon national football team, Volker Finke, has made it clear that the skipper and star player of his team, Samuel Eto’o, will not be included in the starting line up in tomorrow’s game against Brazil because of his knee injury.

According to Finke, Eto’o took part in the training session earlier today, but, he is not fit enough to play for full 90 minutes and thus, Cameroon would start without him against the hosts.

The match against Brazil is going to be Cameroon’s last match in this World Cup. They have already lost the two matches that they have played and thus, there is no chance of them reaching the knockouts now. But, yes, they will have the opportunity to become the party spoilers for Brazil.
If Brazil gets defeated by Cameroon, there might appear a scenario where they end up getting knocked out.
That isn’t looking like happening though as Brazil is a very strong unit and they can be backed to pull off at least a draw against Cameroon.

Addressing the press ahead of the match against Brazil, Finke said, “I am not sure about Samuel. We might send him out there for a brief period of time, but, he won’t be there in the starting XI. I don’t think there would be a miraculous improvement in his knee in the morning tomorrow.”
Eto’o has already become 33 years of age and many pundits reckon that this World Cup might prove to be his last tournament at the international stage. But, Finke completely denied that.

The Cameroon boss said, “This is not the last time that he is playing for Cameroon. He still has a few years left I reckon. So, we shouldn’t start the talks of his retirement.”
